Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Cabinet Decision No. (570), dated 22 Ramadan 1442 AH (corresponding to May 4, 2021 AD), was issued approving the merger of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax and the General Authority of Customs into a single entity under the name Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). ZATCA is responsible for collecting Zakat, taxes, and customs duties, and for achieving the highest levels of compliance among Zakat payers in accordance with best practices and with high efficiency. It also seeks to enable the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to become a global logistics hub by facilitating trade, protecting national security, and regulating all activities related to customs operations and border crossings, as well as managing them to ensure the highest possible levels of efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. This is accomplished through the provision of high-quality services that focus on customers and their needs, in line with leading international practices.
