A person who pays to the creditor the debt of another person shall subrogate the creditor in the following cases: a) If he is obligated to pay the debt along with or on behalf of the debtor. b) If he is a creditor and he pays a debt to another creditor who has priority over him due to an in-kind security, even if he holds no security. c) If a legal provision grants him the right of subrogation. d) If he and the creditor agree, whether at the time of payment or prior thereto, that he subrogates the creditor, even if the debtor objects thereto.
