The Minister or the chairman of the board of directors of the competent authority, as the case may be, or his designee, may, upon coordination with the supervisory entity, take a preventive measure to, partially or wholly, suspend the activity for a period not exceeding 15 days upon detecting a violation requiring urgent action to avert an environmental disaster, and refer the violation to the competent court or the committee referred to in Article 39(2) of this Law, as the case may be, within five days from the date of suspension. The court or the committee, as the case may be, shall consider, within a period not exceeding 10 days from the date of referral, the continuation of the suspension. The Regulations shall determine the necessary procedures. Chapter 9: Concluding Provisions
