Guardianship is of two types:
1. Guardianship over person, which means the overall care of the incompetent person in a
manner not inconsistent with the custodian’s authority in managing the affairs of the
person subject of custody.
2. Guardianship over the estate, which means managing all affairs related to the
incompetent person’s estate.
A sole person may assume both types of guardianship.
