Government Tenders and Procurement Law

1. The head of a government agency shall have the power to decide on tenders for carrying out works and procurements and to assign additional works; he may delegate such power in the following cases: a) Deciding on tenders for carrying out works and procurements of a value not exceeding 10,000,000 riyals. Government Tenders and Procurement Law b) Assigning additional works of a value not exceeding 5,000,000 riyals per project or 10% of the project cost, whichever is lower. 2. The head of a government agency shall have the power to cancel a tender and he may delegate such power. 3. The head of a government agency shall have the power to terminate contracts and he may delegate such power. 4. The head of a government agency shall have the power to decide on direct purchases and he may delegate such power in cases where the purchase value does not exceed 3,000,000 riyals. 5. The head of a government agency shall have the power to award tenders for the sale of movables and he may delegate such power. 6. The delegation of powers shall follow the chain of command.
