The preliminary criminal investigation officer shall immediately hear the statement of the arrested person. If there is sufficient
evidence for accusation, the officer shall, within twenty four hours, refer the accused, along with the report to the investigator
who shall, within twenty four hours, interrogate him and order his detention or release.
