1. Without prejudice to the jurisdiction of the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality
Organization, the Ministry shall approve the mandatory specifications and standards for
petroleum and petrochemical products as well as the testing methods thereof.
2. The licensee shall, upon engaging in petroleum or petrochemical operations, comply with
the approved specifications and standards.
