TERMINATION
This Convention shall remain in force for five years, after that it shall remain in force
indefinitely unless either Contracting State terminates it through diplomatic channels by
giving a written notice six months before the end of the calendar year. In such event, the
Convention shall cease to have effect:
a. in case of Saudi Arabia:
i.
with regard to taxes withheld at source, in respect of amounts paid or credited
on or after the first day of January next following the calendar year in which
the written notice of termination is given; and
ii.
with regard to other taxes, in respect of taxable years beginning on or after
the first day of January next following the calendar year in which the written
notice of termination is given;
b. in case of Pakistan:
i.
with regard to taxes withheld at source, in respect of amounts paid or credited
on or after the first day of July next following the calendar year in which the
written notice of termination is given;
ii.
with regard to other taxes, in respect of taxable years beginning on or after
the first day of July next following the calendar year in which written notice of
termination is given;
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the undersigned, being duly authorized thereto, have signed this
Convention.
Done in duplicate at Islamabad this 2nd day of February, 2006 corresponding
to 3rd Muharram, 1427[H] in the Arabic & English languages both the texts being equally
authentic.
