1. The carrier shall not limit his liability against the consignor if the consignor has, before the loading takes place, provided in the bill of lading a description of the nature of the goods and their value and the importance of preservation thereof. Said description shall be deemed to be proof of the accuracy of the value set out by the consignor of the goods, unless the carrier proves otherwise. 2. The carrier’s limitation of his liability shall not be deemed as acknowledgment of such liability.
