A passenger may request the termination of the contract with compensation where appropriate if the carrier makes a substantial alteration to the travel dates, the voyage itinerary, or scheduled ports of call. The carrier shall be Commercial Maritime Law exempted from payment of compensation if he proves that he exercised due diligence to prevent such alteration.
