Subject to the provisions of Articles 33 and 34 of this Law, under a valid marriage contract,
a wife shall observe iddah upon the death of her husband, even if the death occurs prior to
consummation, and she shall observe iddah in case of separation, for reasons other than
death, after khalwa or consummation.
