The iddah of a non-pregnant woman separated from her husband due to a reason other
than death shall be:
1. three menstrual cycles for a menstruating woman; and
2. three months for a postmenopausal or premenstrual woman. If a woman menstruates
before the lapse of iddah, iddah shall commence from the date of menstruation.
