Fishing port controllers designated by the Ministry shall monitor the implementation of
the provisions of the Law and its Regulations, and any decisions issued by the Ministry.
They may particularly have the following powers and tasks:
1. Reviewing fishing and marine vessel licenses to ensure their renewal and validity;
2. Ensuring that number plates are located on both sides of the marine vessel;
3. Inspecting marine vessels, fishing tools, and excursion vessels to ensure that no
prohibited fishing equipment or nets are used, nor any other violations committed,
and taking the necessary measures as per the established procedures;
4. Monitoring marine vessels to ensure that they do not hire unauthorized labor;
5. Reviewing licenses of fish transport and marketing vehicles to ensure their validity;
6. Ensuring the usability of the preservation boxes in fish transport and marketing
vehicles;
7. Inspecting fish transport vehicles and cold stores to ensure that they are free from
prohibited fish at the time of inspection;
8. Attaching an entry and exit record of engine oil; and
9. Informing the Ministry of any detected violations in order to address the same,
pursuant to the established statutory procedures.
