If the plaintiff fails to attend any of the hearings without a justification acceptable to the court, the court may dismiss the case. If a period of 60 days lapses and the plaintiff does not file a petition for the continuation of the case after being dismissed, or does not attend the hearing following the continuation of the case, the case shall be deemed null and void. If the plaintiff later files a petition for continuation of the case, the court shall, on its own motion, rule the case to be null and void.
