The court shall, during the session, inform the accused of the offense of which he is charged, read the indictment and explain it to him, provide him with a copy thereof and ask him to respond to the charge. Article161 If the accused at any time confesses to the charge, the court shall hear and examine his statement in detail. If the court is satisfied that the confession is valid and sees no need for additional evidence, it shall decide the case. Otherwise, it shall further investigate the case.
