A physician may not perform abortion on a pregnant woman unless necessary for saving her life. However, abortion may be performed if pregnancy has not completed four months and it has been conclusively established that the continuation of such pregnancy will have serious consequences on the mother’s health, based on a decision by a medical committee formed in accordance with terms and conditions specified in the Implementing Regulations of this Law.
