1. The grandmother shall inherit only as the mother’s mother and father’s mother as well as the father’s paternal grandmother and great-grandmothers. The father shall not exclude his mother or his paternal grandmother. 2. The grandmother shall inherit one-sixth of the estate in the absence of the mother. In case of multiple inheriting grandmothers, they shall jointly inherit one-sixth of the estate; a nearer grandmother shall exclude a more distant grandmother, regardless of the kinship side.
