1. The court may, on its own motion or the motion of a litigant, decide to inspect
the subject of the dispute and shall specify in its decision the date and place
of the inspection. An absent litigant shall be notified of the decision at least
24 hours prior to the inspection date.
2. The court may appoint an expert to assist in the inspection and may hear the
testimony of witnesses.
