1. A chamber board of directors shall appoint an experienced, competent, and
academically qualified full-time secretary general to be responsible for the
chamber’s administrative and financial affairs. He may, in a non-voting
capacity, attend board meetings, except for closed meetings. The
Regulations shall determine the criteria required for such appointment.
2. A chamber board of directors may hold closed meetings to review the
performance of the chamber secretary general.
3. In all cases, and without prejudice to the provisions of the Labor Law, the
term of the secretary general’s contract shall not exceed the term of the
board by more than one year. The succeeding board may renew his contract
for not more than one additional year from the term of the new board.
